Check out Huey Lewis and the News - 'Hip to Be Square'. What a sound! Punchy, perfectly balanced, beautifully polished sound. I especially love the snare noise at the beginning, it works beautifully.

Maybe recordings were just better in the 80s.

They were. Period. I still think that was the last period of great music. Even pop sounded good in thse days. And Van Halen on 'Beat it'. Man, what a sound.

I love that movie! We like putting that on when we have friends over, they think it's going to be a horror movie. We all end up on the floor laughing our a**'s off!

You ever seen the movie American Psycho?

just thought I'd mention it cause the guy in the movie talked about Huey Lewis and the News in one scene.

Yep, I remember that scene. Also Phil Collins' Sussudieo (how the heck do you spell that word?) :)

Are you joking?

Yeah, saw it in American Psycho. That's was prompted me to download... em I mean borrow... it from a friend.

'a song so catchy most people won't even listen to the lyrics themselves. but they should. Not only is it a song about the importance of conformity and fitting in, it's a personal statement about the band themselves. Arrrrrrrrrgggggghhhhhhh!!'

Ummm....

???

Are you laughing??

Well, what was your hairstyle in the 80s?

I was at boarding school in those days in a little shanty town (what you'd know as a one-horse town, I believe) in those days, it was quite the rage. Everything from Floyd to Club Noveau went.
