i was wondering if anybody had any advice on what type of mic set would be the best to mic drums in a home studio recording on a pc.--- johnny rockstar

the best mics for a home setup are also the best in commercial studios....now if you meant "cost-friendly", then.....

a pair of Marshall MXL603's (about $79 each)

a Shure sm57 on snare(about $79 each)

a AT ATMPRO25 on kick (about $50)

if you wanna mic the toms, a few Radio Shack 30-3032's

if you wanna get fancy, add 1 or 2 room mics like a Studio Projects B1......

Those Radio Shack tom mics are $19 right now by the way, The 603s are a good reccomendation but If you have a good room the ECM8000s are even more cost friendly, round them out with an AT pro 25 and you got a good kit for arround 100.00

ECM8000s 20.00 each (MF)

AT pro 25 35.00 each (on Ebay)

Now the best mics are probubly more for just one and not that much of an improvement for the buck
