In a small setup such as:

fantom keyboard going spdif into delta 1010 card
mic going into tubepre then xlr into delta 1010
delta rca outs to home stereo for monitoring (no real studio monitors)

where I do rap/r&b beats; only track vocals one at a time; and may want to incorporate my asr and maybe another mic for acoustic guitar at a later date...

What is the benefit of incorporating a small mixer into my setup?
(my guess is that it would help incorporate monitors into my setup)

And how would I route everything with the mixer in the setup...my guess is:
keys and mics into mixer
keys and mic channels to alt bus out to DAW
keys and mic channels also to control outs which go out to monitoring
Now...does the outs from pc daw come back to available mixer ins and go to control outs for monitoring?

I suppose since its in the nweb section, it might be legitimate. Maybe. There's too much here to go into right now.

mixer....why....?

eq

inserts

the ability to run an effects processor to multiple channels

given its a 16.4 you can mic up 16 sources, mix them into the 4 bus, and send them to your delta.

monitoring options.

pretty much nothing you will need for 1 track hip/hop.
