Do you thing a group of 4 year old kids would have more fun playing with a B1 or a Mr. Microphone?

Would that be the Behringer B1 or the 797 Audio/Studio Projects B1?

You're hilarious.

Mr Microphone without a doubt.

Mr Microphone has somethings going for him.

1) No Phantom power, pure battery juice works great.

2) Easy to Handle, it was designed to be thrashed and blown into without damaging the voice coil and its impervious to slobber.
3) Brightly colored windscreen right out the box is a winner.

4) Lightweight.

5) hooks into a portable playback system.

For some high quality background music you can use a "Close 'n' Play"

I'm showin' my age

It's obviously the Behringer B1, since he didn't refer to it as the "797 Audio/Studio Projects B1".

If it were me...

I believe the subtle nuances of the sound of a group of 4 year olds at play would best be served by a Mr. Microphone. Besides it's ability to take high SPL's, it has a battery that can die (sorry kids, we don't have any more AAs! We'll pick some up tomorrow, I promise.), not to mention the best part - it's easily broken!

YKMV (your kids may vary)

Upon my less-exhaustive tests of the Mr. Microhone . . .

Pros: Visually stunning pop-filter. Great portability for on-location mic'ing.

Makes a great accessory to the adolescent mating ritual, as it aids in meeting members of the opposite sex for possible future meetings at specified times and places. Phrases like "Hey Good Looking. Be back to pick you up later," can be communicated easily and in an off-the-cuff fashion.

Cons: Almost 0 spl handling. Distorts very easily at even the faintest of sounds. Ineffective RCF rejection. Radio signals can be picked up and heard very easily. Very poor frequency response -- steep and early rolloff of higher frequencies (ie -- aything above 1Khz) and low frequencies (ie -- anything below 1Khz).

I think this is the one they would prefer.

ROTFL!!!
I swear, Brent has to be the come-back king!

I don't post here anymore, but Brent, that was really funny. Somehow I just picture DJL with a bunch of 4 year olds....

Oh yeah, one other thing. It is not a 797 Audio Studio Projects B1. It is just a Studio Projects B1. 797 is one of our many factory's we use to build products designed by any one of our four design engineers on staff.

That is all...Later

I think 797 Audio in China makes Nady and Studio Projects mic's... but does 797 Audio also make Behringer mic's too?

One kid almost dropped a B1 on his foot and it could have broke his toe if it would have hit it... and 5 out 6 adults agreed your B1 mic's should be pulled from the shelves until you put a warning on the package stating the product is recommended for children 8 years old and older. PS, the kids had way more fun with the Nurf ball than the B1, but they did have a little fun throwing the B1 on the ground for a while.... but, we had to take it away from them because it's a dangerous toy. :D

When I first came to this board a few weeks ago, I thought Alan Hyatt was being kind of jerky and I didn't want to buy his stuff. Now I have had a chance to grow to appreciate the ambience here and I realize that he was actually quite restrained. Now I want to buy whatever he is selling.
