1: The shoe-in's that weren't even named, such as Yngwie, Robben Ford, Gary Moore, Bo Diddley. Actually, I think Robben Ford did get 1 vote.

wow, i was really surprised gary moore and ingwie weren't on the list.

Keep in mind that our list at present is only 75 players long. Once you fill in the remaining 25 you would definitely get guys like Yngwie, Gary Moore, Bo Diddley, Tal Farlow, Robben Ford, etc in there. There will be some jockeying for position in the higher slots, but I don't think the top 10 would change much.
Even as it is, this list is far more valuable than the Rolling Stone list in terms of reflecting a broad variety of genres and generations, and the tastes of actual guitarists.

I would like to see more Morello votes!

I could only list 20...20 is the kinda number you just chuck out off the top o yur head. Of course Morello should get more votes tho.

Hey Daf,

Thanks so much for the compliments re: Walter Becker. I love his stuff - but I don't think he makes the top twenty of all time.
His fills are great - and the tone is everything you could want out of a strat.

. . . and thank you.

I am flattered.

I'm a bit surprised that none of you have mentioned Tommy Bolin...

I cant beleive that votes for some players like Brian Setzer for example are ahead of the genious of Brian May.
And its good to see that common sense or outright obviousness puts Jimi Hendrix way on top where he will be for ever.

Jimi Hendrix
Brian May
Angus Young
Ted Nugent
Ritchie Blackmore
Dave Grohl
