That represents the top 75 vote getters. Any other names have only received one vote.
By the way, the list counts down from 75 to number 1, and the number represents the amount of votes that person received. That top 10 looks a whole lot better to me than the Rolling Stone thing did...
No Bo Diddley anywhere to be found?! No Yngwie Malmsteen at all?!
Hendrix;
Jeff Beck;
Clapton;
Segovia;
Pass;
Liona Boyd;
Howe;
George Harrison;
EVH (although I don't listen to his stuff)
Gilmour;
Page;
Richards;
Roy Clarke;
Chet Atkins;
Steve Hackett;
Buddy Guy;
SRV;
Blackmore;
Cooder;
Mark Knopfler;
There are some here whose music I am unfamiliar with, though I do know they have the chops. I am sure there are countless jazz and classical guitarists labouring in obscurity who could outplay most of the people on my list.
Lists are generally useless, but I am one post further up the ladder toward my very own customized avatar!

I didn't get your votes in those totals. You snuck your post in as I was adding them up.
The three things I found most interesting were:
1: The shoe-in's that weren't even named, such as Yngwie, Robben Ford, Gary Moore, Bo Diddley. Actually, I think Robben Ford did get 1 vote.
2: The huge volume of players with one vote. Seems like just about everybody that voted listed many famous people, and then a bunch of unknowns. I ended up with a huge list of guys I'd never even heard of that all got 1 vote.
3: How hard it is to tallly up all those votes. It took me a good 45 minutes!

That just shows how many talented players there are out there. I'm sure you haven't heard of Oscar Aleman (I mentioned him earlier) but you must have heard of Tal Farlow (Gibson has a signiture model for him), Grant Green and Lowell George (not jazz but played with Little Feat, Zappa and a who's who's of 70's rock as session man and producer). And no one mentioned any of the New Orleans/cajun/zydeco/reggae players that are amazing. Anyone hear of Sonny Landreth? Absolutely amazing. I should be getting a CD of a show he played in Rhode Island on 8/31 and he smoked. I got to meet him after the gig and chatted with him about his guitar setup. I'll see if I can post a picture of his ax. A nice custom shop Les Paul. There's just not enough time in the day to hear all the great players!
