thcker cables equal better sound quality????

I thought the whole George L's thing was a bunch of hype until I switched to those cables for my steel guitar. It was night and day better. Much more clarity and high end. With guitar, less so, but still evident. I think the steel's pickup is like 16 or 18k. The George L's allowed it to not load down. I'm a believer now.
 
If you use high impedence, low output pickups (Strat/Tele) you need cable with low capacitance. If you use low impedence, high output pickups (EMG/active) it's not an issue.

Once you plug into a pedal from that point on it's not an issue unless that pedal has a true bypass.

A high impedence mic/instrument level run can only be about 18'. After that you lose your highs.
