Bristol Posse

Okey Dokey
Well this maybe a mistake cos I just finised the first mix on this one and I'm sure I'll find a lot I don't like about it when I listen back later...
But here's a new one

Everything on this was recorded using either an SM7B or SM57. there was too much going on around here to even think about using a condensor. I kinda like how it turned out, for now at least.

Vocal needs some work but just a scratch at this point

This was interesting. My first impressions are that I really like the guitar sounds and the repeating broadly panned synth-type sound that begins the track and continues more or less throughout.

Not sure about the drums yet - they're pretty busy but follow the changes nicely. The vocals seem awfully boomy to me...kind of muddied things up when they came in...

A unique tune with a nice melody, but I think the vocals could be presented differently...:)

Not bad. I'd like to give it another chance after you tweak it a little.

Made a couple of little tweaks. Getting close to what I want it to be

The vocals are still a bit strong, I would reduce them a few dbs if it were me, but that being said they aren't terribly annoying or anything :). Taking some of the boomy out at, oh, say around 300hz might help as well, but that's entirely subjective IMO.

Nice full sound with that tracking chain though, eh? :) Hard to go wrong with Shure.

Cheers,

Hammy

Good tune, but the voice is so up close that the rest sounds farrrr awayyyy....:D. Mix isn't bad otherwise.

Joey :):)

The synth is cool.

The vocals seem a bit too relaxed for the song. The instrumentation is very tense and driving, but then the vocals are just calm. It works ok in the chorus, but I think you need more intensity during the verses.

I like the guitar tone too.

Thanks for the feedback everyone and yeah the vocals need some work
I'll porbably re track them, these were just scratch vocals to give me an idea of how the mix should fit around them and give me something to sing along with as a way of getting the melody into my head.

The vocals seem a bit too relaxed for the song

Yeah that's true, what can I say I'm a laid back kinda guy :)

vocals seemed a bit too loud...and the drums could come up more....different sounding, the vocals key caught me offguard at first...good job overall
