That slightly Dirty Nashville Tele sound

How they get that? Is it just a Tele thru a Deluxe or a Twin? I'm trying to record a country song and need that sound.

Try a Tele thru a Blues Jr.

Dual Showman with a home made 3 x 10" Vintage Celestion cabinet. For precise overdrive control I often use the preamp section of a Rocktron Chameleon.

I don't have a blues jr. but I do have a Chandler blue tube into a Peavey Classic 60 tube power amp into a Marshall JCM900 4x12. I also have a single 12 closed back cab. Right now, I'm simply mic'ing it with a 57 a little off axis (45) from one of the lower speakers. Maybe the 4x12 has too much bottom?
This rig with a Les Paul sounds great when I push the pre.

I use a tele into a boss compressor pedal then into my fender hot0rod deluxe.
Set the comp ratio reasonably low but run the comp level and tone up a bit to goose up the amp input signal.Try tooling around with the mid eq on the amp too,have fun mate - spiny
