Sm57 on edge of speaker against grille. It still sounds so thin! Heres just a rough demo song we did, but you get my point

Would buying a Dmp3 mic preamp or something similar help? I have a yamaha aw16G and I really have to crank the trim knob to get a good level.

I think I agree with tom the guitar tone is ok but it is too loud and you should find a place for it to sit in the mix better.
