I am trying to get a decent sounding punk distortion with my equipment, but have not secceded yet. I'm trying to get the Green Day/Blink 182 sound. Does anyone have any info on what they use, or what their settings are ? My equipment is : Les Paul (I know it should be a Strat), Marshall Amp, GFX-707 effects pedal.

I have also tried recording onto the PC going through guitar-GFX-Line In, but I find this changes the sound too, as I don't get the same sound as through the amp. If anyone can advise me on settings for this combination too, it would be appreciated.

Cheers

Did you try guitargeek.com ??

I know that they have Tom Delonge's (Blink 182) setup pictured..

Yeah you definately should have a strat or at least a good humbucker in bridge position. put the les paul in lead position. (I only used one once in a guitar shop and i think that was the position that i used) Dont use a pedal for distortion. Use an amp (if it has dist.)turn the mid all the way up. You could even buy a used foriegn strat for very cheap and route it for a humbucker....uh,.....thats all i can think of right now

the les paul should do fine ... add a invader if you truly want THAT sound. now what marshall do you have?
