I used to use a parametric EQ(outboard...Orban?), where I would
boost the frequency in question, do a sweep until I found out exactly where the problem was, and then notch and adjust.
But this digital stuff is kinda new to me. It doesn't seem as easy as it was with equipment with 'real' knobs. I'll get used to it.
Thanks for the help. I'll try your suggestions.

What "digital stuff" are you using? Also meant to ask you what you are using as a preamp for the V67. Last, do you still have the Orban?

Pre amp is an Audio Buddy. "Digital" stuff is CoolEditPro.
Am I gonna hafta get rid of that Audio Buddy?

OK. Folks around here say the Audio Buddy is a super clean little pre. I don't own one, so I can't comment. The one thing with it is that it clips before the indicator light comes on, so I have read. Just watch that. (or should I say listen for that?)

I am unfortunately not conversant with Cool Edit Pro, but I bet there are plenty of PC guys here who could give you some tips on the EQ in that program. Heck, I was hoping you still had the Orban, so you could just run your pre into that and get it tweaked on the way in to the computer.

If you are more at home with real knobs and such, you might want to consider getting a pre/channel strip in the future, once you are REALLY in the black and doing V/O's a lot. Something with a compressor, EQ and a de-esser would be perfect for you. Once you had it dialed in to your voice, you'd probably never have to fool with it again. In the meantime, just play with that Eq in the computer and see if you can't get what you are seeking. Theres a way, I bet. You're talking to a guy who once did a regional commercial spot on a cheap Fostex X-15 cassette four track, after all!

Thanks for the advice, Crawdad. I like the idea of getting an all-in-one piece of outboard gear. That probably would be best for me. Set it, and forget it. Does Popeil make anything for processing sound :)
