Ok. I would suggest taking your amp head into the monitor room with you and micing up the cabinet in the recording room.
This way you can hear exaclty what the mic is piking up and you can adjust the EQ etc while playing. If you cant get a good sound that way then I would get another amp.

I've tried everything....Even the 2 mic thing then phase shifting deal..i dont even know if i did the phase thing right. But i been trying just one mic just everything!

my ears are shot from doing this 3 days and I gotta take a break.

Well I tried using both Shures. I put on behind to capture bass and it seems to much better.

But what mics should I use and where? 58 up front? Condensor in the back?

sorry this isnt helpful, but that govt mule song on your myspace just kicks ass. Uhmm you mentioned you were running through a 4 channel mixer? Did you try a different channel?

Do you have another speaker cab that you can hook to the amp? It's just a thought but sometimes different speakers will make a world of difference.

Hey there guys, thanks for the help. I think I have the problem solved. Some more tweaking and I should be good I hope...never know.

BUT, anyways...I recorded a song and I want you'll to hear it...I recorded the amp in only 2 small parts...The lead solo is the amp distoration and the rhythm guitar for solo clean is the amp.

I'm just an amature but I try really hard on my recordings...so...

Please any advice...feedback...thoughts? The MP3 hurts the sound obviously...but....

Ok I still been trying new stuff and still sounds bad. I tried listeing for hte hiss and I found it. It is more on left speaker...ive been mic'ing the right one.

I have a sound coming out that I really like. The amp sounds good. But there is like this ratty, gainy, scratch coming out...Ive tried it at all volumes.

I need someone here helping me! haha.
