I purchased one of these chart recorders this week on eBay (I love eBay). When my studio is complete I want to track the temperature and humidity for several days or a week. This should tell me where to set my AC in the summer when the studio is unoccupied. Don't want to keep it cooler than necessary during those times due to power bill. This is south Georgia so humidity is a concern. Remember this is a home/project studio, not a daily commercial venture so it won't be in use during "normal" working hours. I work in a calibration laboratory so I'll calibrate it myself before use.
In the spirit of giving back to all you guys for all your help I'll make this offer. If someone wants to borrow it (no more than a week please) to track their studio environmentals I'll be glad to loan it. I'll get a good, reuseable, transit case to protect it during shipment. The only catch is you'll have to pay actual shipping both ways. I would estimate the shipping one way at about $15. The recorder uses a circular 24 hour chart (wish it was 7 day). It's printed on both sides so you flip it over after 24 hours. I think I have a stack of these charts laying around. If not, I'm sure they're really cheap.
I should get the recorder in a week or two. Hopefully it won't need repairs but that's not a problem either. Whatcha think? Would anyone benefit from documenting their studio environmentals? Just an idea.
