Alex Lifeson's used a Tele for some of the harder songs on Rush's most recent tours. "Earthshine" being one. and IIRC, he was using single coils.
i've got a stacked humbucker in my (88 US) tele at the bridge--a Duncan Little 59. it's ok for some things and pretty crappy for others.
i'm looking at swapping both of my pups out for a pair of Duncan Nashville 5/2's, although i like the way the neck pup sounds.
