I am finally getting around to putting an old guitar I have back together. it's a Samick, and it's a pretty decent guitar - swamp ash, nice neck, etc.
A long time ago, in a far dumber state of mind, I replaced the pickups with Seymour Duncan Hot Rails. I am now thinking of putting in a decent set of single coils again.
The guitar is a tele body, and I'm figuring I'll go for that tele sound. I was looking at putting in a Seymour Duncan Broadcaster pickup in the lead, and was unsure about the rhythm pickup.
I have two questions: First, on SD's website, it says to use the broadcaster pickup in the rhythm and neck position. Does anyone have any experience with this setup compared to a more conventional style setup? Second, if I do want to go with a Tele set, with a rhythm and neck pickup, is the neck pickup on a tele a different size? I know they usually come with the metal cover, and it looks smaller. The samick is a tele style body, but has two regular strat size pickup spaces... If I get a "metal" neck pickup, will it not fit right?
Thanks!
