Hi , I posted this question in the microphones section and unfortunately had no replies. So I thought it might be appropriate here. I have tried unsuccessfully to record anything half decent with my Samson Q7 microphone. I think this is a compatabilty issue. (Or please correct me if I'm wrong).
Does anyone have a circuit diagram or a link to a suitable off the shelf matching transformer,or suitabe microphone preamp, or Teac a-3440 modification.
1..Samson Q7 Microphone output impedance 200 ohms (it can be wired via jack plug or XLR I really don't mind which way)
2.. Tape recorder (TEAC a-3440) Input specification 0.25mV (-27dB) /600 ohms or more.
As it is the sound recorded is very weak even with the input gain control on all channels set to maximum. I have tried each channel in turn.
Thanks in anticipation.
