I just picked-up an old Teac 2300S and when I hit the play button I have to manually push-up on the pinch roller to get it to engage and disengage. The unit is pretty dirty and I plan on giving it a good interior/exterior cleaning. What's the best way to crack open this machine? Anyone else familiar with this problem? Might it be something else? Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Teac Pinch Roller problem

Ok, I was able to locate this info on another board:

" I'd like to share with you potential Teac owners a common problem.
There is a solenoid that operates the pinch roller using a lever. The lever pivots on a long shaft that was probably lubricated with some kind of grease. The grease dry's up, causing the shaft to bind-up."

Unfortunately, it was an old thread and there wasn't much other info given. So I now ask, what's the best way to get into a Teac 2300 and what type of lube should I use? Thanks.
