Yeah, manuals should be visual and colorful. But multinational companies always were and still are so damn poor, that they only can afford color printing for their promo-brochures and four-full-page insert-adds in "major publications".

Here's today's typical "useful package" that comes with a new product:
(maybe not the best example, but that's what I have around for making a quick photo and it IS typical. Having said that, in the past manuals were actually not so bad).
Also, Hey!, we are moving toward Disposable World (under One Ruler!), so what one may need to know? - Nothing, and thus, no manuals needed.
Knowledge is poison. :D - I mean - :mad::mad::mad::mad:
