A C&W song writer that records in my studio joined Taxi. He sent songs in and they provided feedback on the material (actually very professional and useful feedback). He kept re-writing and re-recording (good for me but costly for him - in particular bringing the singers back in).
Long story short we did get one song published (I say we since he gave me 25% writer credit).
Problem is, as many of you may know - getting published don't mean a thing if you don't get recorded - and getting recorded don't mean a thing if nobody buys the recording.
Is Taxi a rip off? I don't think so (but then again, it wasn't my membership). Does Taxi replace the age old formula of doing gigs, making calls, pounding on doors, taking rejection over and over and trying again? No!
