Tascam US-1800 4 Outputs

Everything seems great so far tascam us-1800 however due to me not having as many inputs I cant really test this system properly.

I have a question When playing VSTS back on nuendo cubase! i listen to it at the moment through headphones and everything works great. When i switch from outputs 1,2 {bus1]} to Outputs 3,4 {bus2} i hear nothing on the headphones why?
 
Headphone output is a mix of direct signal and 1&2. So is the MON outs on the rear. 3&4 are separate outputs. You wouldn't want this in your monitor if you were using it for say, outboard gear or an aux mix for a separate headphone mix. Isolated outputs are very necessary. I wish there were more.

I know a friend of mine uses both bus's and he said its for more control over the mix. But I have to buy a mixer! problem i feel i have then is i have mixers to play with, a software based and a hardware based given a different sound on the mixer if i should do so to alter it.

Anyhow I think ill stick with just Bus 1 outputs 1,2 Ill just make Channel Groups and put all my low ends in there and higher or mid and higher in another channel grp.
