Hi,
I am looking for a strain relief insert for my Tascam RC-71 remote.
Does anyone have a spare they are looking to sell?
Would be much appreciated (see pic) 3.webp

I found one in the course of looking for something else.
I can't remember why I had it or what I repaired.

Nice! That looks great. Ill PM you, but for forum info is it a hard operation?
Would I have to take off and re-solder all the connections or is that little band in the middle of the insert made so you can just slip one side on and then the other without removing cables?

Nah, Dude,...

it's press-fit, snap-in.

I may have had to repair my own RC-71, back in the day,... but it would have had to have been ages ago!

That was then, this is now!
Thanks Dave. You saved the day!! 3.webpt2.webpt1.webp Great people on this forum!

Yes,...

If you have a well stocked electronic components store near you. Depending where you live, that's an option. A lot of parts shops you'd traditionally rely on in the past have closed down. Online price is reasonable, but shipping is disproportionally high, which would cause most people to buy a quantity to make shipping "worth it". You'd also need to size it right for online purchase, lest you end up with a bunch of clips that don't fit.

I've read on eBay a seller who said the RC-71 has a "class" problem of the strain relief breaking down. Magnum seems to have gotten one of those. I may have gotten that strain relief due to the same issue, although my memory fails me ATM. I bought that component off the shelf many years ago.

Off the shelf-Mouser,Digikey,Allied.You should be able to find one at any electronics store-or just blob it up with Silicon RTV. :)
