I've been trying to record a demo tape with a Tascam Porta02 4 track cassette recorder. I have recorded the drum tracks and I've been trying to lay electric guitar over them. The problem is, as soon as I hit the record button, the guitar signal seems to get boosted to the point that I can barely hear the drums. I've tried to pan the drums to the left and the guitar to the right, turning up the drums all the way, but when I turn up the drum track it also turns up the guitar track as I'm recording it. This is making it near impossible to get my guitar tracks recorded, as I can't figure out a way to hear the drums. Any suggestions or advice would be tremendously appreciated.
