Hey everybody,
A friend of mine asked me to lay down a few drums tracks the other day, . .and he thought it would be cool to use his fathers old MS-16. So, we dragged this beast out of the closet and tried to test it, . .But, unfortunately, we cant get the thing to record. . . .it will pass audio through all of the channels and playback, but not record. I'm sure its probably something we are doing wrong, . or not doing. But, I cant figure out the problem.

So, if anyone has an idea of what I'm doing wrong, . or what I might try to make sure the machine can record properly.. .I would be eternally grateful. . . :D

Hmm...

The machine is probably toast and needs to be properly disposed of. Unfortunately its also full of toxic materials and can be *extremetly* difficult to get rid of- especially on the east coast. :(

Hawaii, however, has very lax laws about that kind of thing so I'd gladly take care of disposing it if you'd care to ship it to me. We're pals so I'd that for ya.

:D

Not very helpful, I know. Good luck with the machine, though. Hopefully someone more knowledgeable will be along shortly...

Does this MS-16 have the track arming component plugged in? You need to arm the tracks that you want to record on. Those are the 16 top row buttons. You have to press those in on the tracks you want to record on as well as press the record and play buttons on the transport to start the recording.

Cheers! :)

Ahhhhhh, Okay. . I think we might have to check that out tonight, . .and make sure that all those top row of buttons are armed! :D Either one of us knows what the hell we are doing with this machine, . .We look like those two Subaru drivers in the 'Cannonball Run' movie, . .!! :p But, hopefully we will both get the hang of it. . . Thanks Ghost!!!

appreciate the help!
