Hey all... I've been lurking around these forums for a while now and I've finally got a question!

I came across an old, huge ass Teac Model 5 board. 'Bout how much do you think one of these could run for? Also, any general thoughts/info on the mixer itself?

Much appreciated to anyone who can share the info!

There was one very clean model 5 which ended at around $172 USD on eBay. Add to this about $50 in shipping and you have a very minty mixer for approx $220 USD. Based on that alone, I'd say that if your model 5 is in excellent condition and if you can view it, test it etc .... then you can comfortably offer around $200 knowing it's a very good deal. However, as you have the privilage to actually see the mixer in person and put it through its paces, I'd be wiliing to pay an extra $50 - 100. Start with $200 though and tell the seller that the model 5, in mint cond, usually goes for that on the used market. If the mixer has added accessories like an original manual etc ... then it's even a better deal! Make sure it looks well maintained, clean and works good. The model 5 will blow away all modern mixers in sound and routing abilities in its class, just like most "vintage" TEAC/TASCAM gear of that era. (Actually, there really isn't a "modern" mixer that is in the model 5's class). Oldie but a goodie and built like a brick shit-house.

Good luck,

Daniel
