I'm using my old studio board an M2516 to run live sound for my son's garage band. How would I be able to configure it so that I can get a monitor mix for the vocalists?

You just use the aux sends, pre-fader. On these desks the pre-fader aux is still post eq (from me memory) so watch out for that.

I have used a 2524 (the larger version) for live sound and it sounds great. There are a few fiddly things due to it being a studio desk, such as the groups return through the monitor channels 17 to 24 (or 9 to 16 in your case) to stereo, and the PDF does not bring up any channel level monitoring, but it works very well.

If it's set up like an M2600 then you might need to patch the direct outs to the tape ins to make some of the auxes work. A bunch of short RCA cables would do it.

You don't need to on the 2500 series, the auxs all work on whatever input is selected by the flip button (input or tape returns).

Hi Tascam users

Agreed this board is really nice. Bought a second hand 2524 last summer to a professional studio and i simply love it. Thinking about buying a 2nd one (or maybe 2600) Sounds great, its a tank (not one of these made in china products...) and it has many many functions, usable for studio and live... If you find one, buy it. it only costs few bucks.

best regards from France
