Hello All

I would be very grateful if someone could shed some light.

Regarding Tasacm m208 mixer. Effects routing.

I'm new to hardware mixing consoles.

I'm confused to why audio that is sent through the EFF/EFF RTN to an effects unit for processing, is only sending the wet/affected signal to the mixers stereo out, while the same audio sent to the individual PGM's remands dry/unaffected. Is there a way to route the effect signal (using the EFF/EFF RTN) to the PGM's?

I use the mixer for recording. I have each of the PGM outs assigned to 4 individual ins to my sound card, which is then sent to my DAW to be recorded.

hope that makes sense, my sentence structure is rather rubbish...

cheers

Hi

It's been a while since I used an M208, but I believe that the effects send and return principal is as follows.
Hook up your effect unit, set the unit's mix control to fully 'wet', set the effect send level controls on each channel to the desired balance whilst taking care not to overload the effect unit's input, adjust the mixer effect return level to add the desired amount of effect into the mix. Usually the effect unit's level controls are set; input fairly low and output fairly high. this keeps the gain and noise floor under control, headroom in other words. Hope that's of some use.
