Hi Folks,

I've come by a Tascam M-216 mixer and I'm trying to integrate it into my studio. I've got a lot of questions, but this one might just get me to buy the manual (if I can find it!):

I'm trying to feed my studio monitors (active) from the console. I can't figure out how to control the volume (not the level) of the signal I send to the monitors. There is a pot labeled "Mon" with 3 selector buttons below it (stereo, FLB, and effect). No matter how I make connections between the back of the console and the monitors that pot seems to have no effect.

Is there a way to connect the console directly to the monitors and then control their volume with that pot? From which outs on the back of the mixer should I send to the speakers (Stereo Out seems likely)? I think I'm missing something very obvious...

Thank you folks for any help,

Ottsca

Not exactly sure about the problem but I think I found a source for the pdf manual.

http://www.softwaredriverdownload.com/tascam_m-216_manual.html

Hope that can help. There is also a tascam and an analog section of this forum. Some of those people are likely more familiar with your dilemma and might not frequent the newbie section. Search around maybe somebody else has had this problem as well. Good luck.

On a studio console the monitors are connected to "Control Room Out" or "CR Out".

The volume is then controlled from Control room volume control, which I think from memory is above the main stereo faders somewhere.

Cheers

Alan
