I bought a dp01fx about a year ago and have down loaded my tunes to the pc about 3 times. I would add various tunes as I went along. I noticed the second time of opening the usb window and plugging the usb cable to the pc, that the usb port would give me an error message that one of the devices attacthed to this computer has malfunctioned and windows does not recognize it. I figured it may be the usb Cable so I purchased another one. same thing happened. However , if I put the cable in a new usb port on the pc it will recognize it the first time but afterward will no longer acknowledge the tascam. Have any of you had this problem and if so what did you do to correct it...Im running out of usb ports on the pc...HELP
I called the tech support at tascam and they were very helpful by the way...apparently you have to... 1) unplug all your perifials while downloading. 2) turn off all your anti virus software and spyware...3) reboot your pc after each download to avoid any problems. If your usb's still malfunction you may need to reinstall the drivers for the usb ports or uninstall reinstall... unfortunately the dp01fx/cd was not availiable when I purchased mine or I probly would have preferred it. Im not dissatisfied with the sound or anything but it would be much easier to have an internal burner. I thought I would post the answer to this in case any of you have a similar problem in the future. Keep makin noise!
