Does anyone know if the hard drive is a standard replaceable type? Also, its not clear how th level meters are calibrated - anyone know how the segments relate to dB?

Standard ATA hard drive

I've just had a peek inside - the hard drive appears to be a standard 3.5" IDE type. I'd just like to be able to replace it if it fails in a few years time. Anyone have any ideas? Also, as far as I can tell, the first segment of the meters indicate up to about about -9 dB and the second segment up to about -3 dB. I guess it is good to underecord with digital but this seems a little excessive.

Tascamforums there have been talk about this:

I understood that a pc-formatted disk will be automatically formatted into dp-01 format once You start the machine with a new disk. I think it is also possible to have a larger disk, don't count on me on that.
