Does anyone have any best practices for getting started with recording songs usint the TASCAM DP-03SD? Thanks!

Hello - welcome to the forum.
I don't own the DP-03SD - although I do own it's bigger cousin the DP-32SD. Seems like there are a couple of people here who either currently use that recorder or did at one time. We'll see if anyone shows up who has first hand experience.
Short of that - there are a good number of user tutorials on youtube for the Tascam DP-03SD - see the link below. When I first acquired my DP-32SD about 11-12 years ago - I immediately watched a bunch of youtube videos to help me get familiar with the machine and to help get me started with it.

Now that you've had it awhile, how's the DP-03 working out for you?

Thanks for asking. My son who plays in a dueling piano bar came over and spent 2 hours with me. Although he was not familiar with my system, his knowledge of music tech is excellent. He helped me figure out many things to include . . .
1) how to record one instrument at a time.
2) how to use the metronome to keep me on beat
3) make sure to use my headphones
Probably many other things that the old guy forgot but it was really helpful AND I got to spend time with my Son.
