Tascam DP-02 - Windows Vista won't read CDs

Hi, i just bought a used DP-02. It didn't come with a USB cable, so until i can procure one i opted to use the built-in CD burner. Having made a song with 5 tracks, i attempted to export them individually to a CD. Windows acknowledged that a disc containing 135MB was present, but there was no way to access the files (or even to view the disc in explorer).

I then attempted to create a master disc. The resulting CD played on a regular CD player, but Windows still does not recognize it (even to play it as an audio CD). Am i doing something wrong? Did i leave anything out? I did finalize the master when i burned it.

Some cables do appear to be on sale on eBay so if the problem is intractable then i suppose i'll buy one of those.
 
My friend has one of those he made me a CD from it and it wouldn't play on my computer but it would on my GFs computer. They use different versions of windows mine is vista and hers is XP. It might be that, the OS on your computer, or the media player or whatever runs your CDs has issues with it. Have you tried a different audio CD in your computer, or tried your CD on a different computer?

Other CDs work fine, and the CD doesn't work on my other computer, although the other computer is running the same version of Windows. I'm actually relieved to hear someone else has had the same difficulty though. It's assurance enough for me to pay the five dollars to order the appropriate USB cable from ebay. If that doesn't fix it i'll just consult the experts again.

Thanks for the speedy reply. Up until now my home recording experience consists mostly of using a Tascam Pocket recorder so i'm sure i'll have a million more questions in the future. Cool forums you guys have here.
