Tascam Dp 004/008 vs. Zoom H4N

OK, I was all set to purchase an 004 or 008 and then I find the zoom. What is the consensus around here for the H4N? I only need 4 tracks and this looks to good to be true. I have a Tascam PS5 currently, it's big and only exports mp3's. I want to record some live stuff, but mainly backing tracks of my daughter singing over a backup track. Anyone have any experience with devices that can render an opinion?

Well I went with the Tascam DR-2d. Nice portable recorder that I can use for field recording and with my camcorder. It actually has a dual record function that can simultaneously record both line in and internal mic's to effectively achieve 4 tracks. Also the internal mics are cardioid and it has overdubb and basic reverb.

I will continue to use my PS5 for home studio work. Maybe someday I will replace it with a DP-003. But for now life is good.

BTW, I ruled out the DP-004 and 008 because they were missing too many features. Essentially no effects, no auto punch and they were not as easy to use. At least the portable recorder, missing the same features, is shirt pocket sized and is easy enough for the casual user.
