Tascam DM24 won't boot correctly

Hi, I just bought a DM24 used (eBay) and I'm having trouble right out of the box. I turn on the machine and the fader calibration setup finishes and I get nothing but the screen with the picture of the mixer in the background. No lights on the mixer are on and no buttons work. Any idea what might be wrong? Is there a way to reset the mixer? I've tried turning it on and off.

It's 2.1. Ran the diagnostic, nothing. Still doing the same thing. I called tascam, just waiting for a reply.

All the diagnostics were fine. All the faders, lights, buttons, knobs are working correctly. I think whoever had it last tried to update to 2.1 and fucked it up. I imagine I'll have to reinstall the software or replace the EPROM chips inside.

Nothing like a $1200 paperweight...

any ideas?

I don't know about your theory about the updates.

When I updated my Dm-24 I messed up one of the files, I think it was the one labeled main, it would just freeze in the middle of the upgrade. The manual says not to turn it off during updating, but I had to it was frozen, but I've never had a problem.

Let me know if you get it to work.
