Tascam 644 Bargain

I could not help but notice that this particular model of tascam analog recorder is presently selling at real bargain prices. It seems to have all the features and then some of the other more popular desired recorders but it also has the addition of midi capabilities. Does anyone have any knowledge of why there is a lack of resale value in this recorder. I own one and it is a great recorder! Its a real quality piece of equipment and produces excellent recording results. I assumed its that its just not as popular as the 400 series so a lot of people are not aware of what it can do. Does anyone else have any experience with this unit? I have had no problems at all with mine.

Yeah, because it's analog. Take a look at many of the threads here. Most all have to do with this computer sound card, or this or that interface, plug-in, etc.

Analog equipment is dirt cheap right now. The only one I know of selling at near retail is the TASCAM 424 MkIII. And they're pretty cheap too.

It is an analog buyer's market right now.
