Definitely clean that lot off. It takes surprisingly little gunk for the recording level to drop off. Hopefully that'll sort it!

Try denatured alcohol, and make sure it’s not made from recycled chemicals, or if you have to use isopropyl alcohol make sure it is at least 91% grade. Instead of cotton swabs use 100% cotton makeup remover pads.

I looked at the heads with magnification and none of the heads are clean and you need to remove the gray junk as the gaps are not ever touching the tape. People use Isopropyl alcohol and it has very little effectiveness. Use Denatured or in your case you might have to use Acetone. All these heads are such that they can not work like that and the lifters are dirty too.

Well after some cleaning and getting the heads clean did the unit work? We are all waiting in anticipation.

Hi everyone,
I cleaned the 3 heads and the tape path. The sound is much better (I hear high frequency now). But I still have the same issue at recording => no sound. The tracks are well erased but no sound is recorded on it
