tascam 424 problems

so i got tascam 424 for demos from ebay today. plug it to adapter and... nothing. no lights, no reaction at all...

i dont have original tascam adapterб but do not think that it is the reason of problem... may be anybody of you guys had same problems or know what to do?

i just realized, may be problem with polarity? on my adapter its -0)+, but on tascam its +0)- is it right? help please

Can you clarify what your symbols mean? I think I understand but I want to make sure...are you using "o" for the pin, and ")" for the shell of the plug?

So this is a 424 mkIII right?

I honestly don't know what the polarity reference is. I would assume it is "-" to the shell and "+" to the pin, but to know for sure you would need to open it up and see what goes to what inside unless somebody else here has a better suggestion.
