I'm in the process of restoring a tascam 38 reel to reel. Does anyone know where I can get the three relays that I need to replace the relays on the record/play cards?

I'd get the part number and check it with Mouser or do a search. It's likely they're a common relay you could replace with another make.

I have this relay problem as well. I have searched, and seen others talking about replacing these relays (which are no longer made), but they never come back and post what part they used to replace it, or where they purchased it.

hi

I got relays from a company called charles Hyde and Sons.

I'd post a scan, but I don't have 10 posts yet. According to my manual under Rec/Rep Ampl. PCB Assy:

K101 Relay, 2.4V G2E-182P-H

K102 Relay, Reed; RP1A24

K103 Relay, 24V G2V-2

Don't know if that helps....

Edited to add: There is a lot of 5 of the 24V G2V-2 relays for sale on FleaBay right now. Item number 220517901567

Hi

K102 is just a 24V spst normally open relay. If you look at the solder tracks under the board you'll see that each pair of pins is connected to each other. The outer pins are the switch and the inner pins are for the coil. Remove the faulty relay from the board, solder in 4 lengths of wire, one each to the outer pin holes and the second pair to the inner holes. Almost any appropriate relay can now be glued to the spare space on the board and soldered to the new wires.
