Recording in a castle? Nice! I am envious.

The good news: When transferring individual mono tracks via the "USB export (virtual tracks)" function you have the option to select either 24 bit or 16 bit resolution.

The bad news: It takes an age! Depending on the length and track count, I'd allow anywhere from 30 mins to an hour PER SONG. Why does it take so long? Each track has to be converted to a .wav from Tascam's proprietary format and then copied to the FAT partition. Done on a PC a similar process would probably take a few minutes max, but my guess is the 2488 lacks sufficient RAM.

Hey Nicole, I confess I've not tried it yet on the mkII but I'd be surprised if there's much / any improvement.
