I figured that's why you are here - for some noise.
As for tape hiss - Nop, can't help Ya'. Tape hiss is very expansive nowdays. Well, maybe I can do it for a price. How 'bout $199.99 per second. But you also will have to stand in line.... couple months or so, busy schedule, you know
I also did not offer you mic hissing. You'll have to use your own mouth. :p

actually my damn fostex e-16 doesn't have any hiss. what a piece of crap.

I'm telling you, man, high quality tape hiss ain't cheap.
But, I hear you, man, ... that's a shame that your machine does not do :( . Well, you can still find a good use for it. May I suggest: get couple of grindeing stones. Mount rough on the left reel table, fine - on the right. Hit REW - rough sharpening, hit F FWD - fine polishing. Makes a great tool :D

also, since this "topic" stinkins like another analog vs. digital blah blah, then somebody tell me, what can MDM or DAW be used for when it goes out of fashion, well, you can take cooling fan out (if you lucky and it's in there ;)) and use it for comforting your hamster during hot summer days.
:D

I've got couple of MDMs in my rack, btw...both with FAN in there! No hamster thou... :(

key, just in case....
pins, if your posts are serious ...then first of all, I'm sorry for bs-ing
second, from practical point, I hardly can imagine that somebody would do this stuff for you here. well, you never know...
but if you really into some sort of 'plug ins creation' or what ever you do, then let me suggest to check out Daniel aka The Interruptor's nest. This man was/is seriously into analog-like effects plug-ins creation and also has the needs and experience in the area, you may want to try to contact him and discuss the matters etc... As far as I know he's cool guy and would be happy to communicate in respects to the issue.
Here's the link: Daniel aka The Interruptor VST Plug-Ins
