OK...I've had a Tascam 34B for years and loved every minute of my time with it. A few years ago, I started recording digital and the 34B got moved to the back of the desk. Now it seems it doesn't get any reel time, at all.
It's covered with a dust cloth and the tapes have been removed to their boxes, and I'm afraid it's not only getting lonely, but I may be harming its mechanical function from non-use.
How should I keep the ole' 34 in good running condition when not using it? Is it like a car where you should run it a few miles every week to keep the seals lubricated?
I don't want to sell it because I do want to go back to analog once and awhile, but how do I keep her happy and mechanically healthy?
