What do I think...
I didn't like it...
bad song...
bad singing...
bad lyrics...
cringeworthy...
when the singer started going WOOOOOHHHHOOOOAAAAAAAAOOOOAAAA @ 1.09 I nearly jumped out the window of my third-story flat...
When a singer sings things like "there is simply more to me that's very deep inside"... it doesn't make you think that there is... in fact... it makes you think that there isn't... and you don't know where to look...
that said... there is potential there... you've got a band where everybody can play their instruments to a reasonable standard... and the singer can sing when he keeps it simple (it's style issues that make the singing seem bad to me - at times too theatrical - and the lyrics he's singing)...
I wish I could keep my mouth shut and just give mix critiques... but I don't really know anything about mixing... remember my opinion is just my opinion... I'm quite sure others will like it... and anyways it would be boring if we all liked the same music...
Final comment. From 3.29 onwards the song was perfect...

Well, I decided to give very minimal details about the song and what was done on it to get fair opinions. Maybe that was a bad idea.
I wrote the song.
That's me singing it. I do, however agree with you a bit on some of it.
And given my background in theatre, I find it funny you mention that.
To date, this is the best thing I've written.
I do need to figure out the 'whoas'. I don't like them in all places, but it was something I started doing and it stuck for this demo recording.
I am not completely satisfied with my vocal performace on this take (and neither is the other singer. I was posting more for the mix, seeing is this is my first mix of this type (with an actual band and not just me and my keyboards).

If you are mainly wanting to get feedback on the mix, you might mention that up front. People here are pretty good at breaking it down....but if you aren't specific you will get general feedback.
