Many of you know Takamini makes pretty decent acoustic guitars.
Ever see a Takamini electric?I have a Takamini GX200 that my best guess is about 20 years old.My brother traded a Kramer for it and I bought it off him.I've never seen another Takamini electric.Any others out there with one of these strange beasts?
Its a neck-through of solid mahagony with two humbuckers,vaguely SGish in body shape.It sounds like a les paul but only weighs like a strat,so its my main gigging guitar.

I've heard about that but never seen one myself...you should post a picture to let me see it!

What surprised me was how cheapo the hardware was.Italian pickups with BAR MAGNETS instead of individual pole pieces.The tuners were loose also.I put Jackson high output ceramic humbuckers in along with grovers.As a humorous oddity I put an old fender power switch as the pickup selector.With decent hardware on it,the guitar became a KILLER.As I said,its a solid piece of mahogony neckthrough with sustain like a much heavier les paul.The only photo on my web page shows me playing a Charvel on stage with my Strat on the stand.

Whenever we have photography,I bring my "pretty" axes.The Takamini has gouges of paint missing and is a workhorse axe.

I have seen one

I will admit to having seen and heard a Takamine electric, it loked like a rip off of an explorer. And i will have to say that they sound better than most that i have heard. I am not sure however of whether this one had any non stock hardware on it. I have never seen any others though.... kjust thoguht i would let ya know you aren;t the only one out there.
