Another great mastering system I was told today was this:

Has anyone heard of this:

T-Racks mastering system, aparently you get amazing results from this I was told from someone who has used this.

I am going to step out and get this.

Has anyone here used this?

I think its a good price £200 , in Digital Village they do a stand alone version for £169.00

I am thinking of using this with my DP-01FX, you can get great stereo compression and the old vintage analogue sound with this , only £200.00

it's the best money can buy.

the instant you have it, put up a website advertising mastering for 100$ a cd. you'll be buried in work. :D

seriously, it's fine. you get what you pay for, i hear it’s better used as plug-ins then as an actual mastering suite.
just remember, you get what you pay for.

FYI, the link you posted is for an upgrade version, requiring you to already own T-Racks LE.

I like the plugin versions, but they are *far* from a complete set of mastering tools. Its a useful EQ, compressor, MB limiter and variable soft-clipping "output" stage. Its a good way to experiement with those tools and mastering technique but its nowhere close to the full story. They do what they do well enough, but that's all they do- if that makes any sense. You can't really throw a wide variety of projects at them and expect them to work as mastering tools.

At work we tend to use the plugs for mixing anyway- they do really well there. The hip hop engineers really like the compressor and EQ. "Man, that EQ is smoooooth!" So I consider them a good purchase but not really a "mastering suite".

Take care,
Chris

To be honest, I find that it often gets bastardized and overused in the hands of amateurs. I personally found a lot of the 'effects' (compressor, limiter, EQ) as blatantly overhyped myself.

w/e

YMMV
