You could mod the desk with a phantom switch by drilling a couple of holes and cutting tracks. I've done it to my old desk. It might be cheaper to get a seperate phantom supply than a new pre, but I guess you can never have enough pre's.

I could do with some pre's anways, my desk isn't the greatest but if I am needing to mod stuff I might aswell begin the upgrade process.. plus I'm pretty flush monetary speaking at this moment in time, I am £300 in credit in my bank :O
