I would like some information on how to use sytem exclusive messages (SYSEX). I have an old KORG X3 workstation from the 1980's and have seen patches over the internet. I would like to upload them into my synth but don't have a clue to go about it. Can someone maybe explain the how this is done?

You will have to check your manual. It can be as simple as loading the sysex file into a sequencer. Setting the keyboard to be ready to receive sysex data. Then hitting play on the sequencer.
