Hi,

Is it possible to syncronize "auto accompaniment style" on say a yamaha dgx-505 to a midi clock on say protools Le 6.4?

Here's the rundown:

When I record an auto accompaniment style at say 90bpm (metronome on yamaha) to an audio track in protools, and then record my own piano playing to a midi track at 90bpm (tempo on protools), the audio beat gradually gets ahead of the midi bars.

Any help appreciated.

You'd have to go through the yamaha manual to see if it will allow midi to trigger accompaniment.

It'd be alot easier to write your own accompaniment on the computer then play along to that. Normally it's just drums, so just load up reason/fruity/a midi file and play along to that.

The manual is a joke. I seem to have solved the problem through trial and error, and have worked out how to use the external clock setting on the 505. But thanks for your comments.

wait...i'm confused. what are you trying to do?

record something on your Yamaha via MIDI into PT? using a metronome on the Yamaha? Why not use the metronome in PT?

or maybe I'm way off
