Linux Man...
Ok, tonight I am getting the MOTU 2408. I am pretty excited about that. I am curious though, to get adat tracks into and out of my computer all I need is lightpipe connections right? I will buy some lightpipe cable too. Anyway, I am curious about syncing I guess. I mean the PCI-324 card that is the card the MOTU stuff plugs in has an adat sync jack on it and so does my adat, do I need that to transfer audio data? I think I read that you can't get sample accurate transfers using a PC and ADAT and MOTU 2408 without the MOTU digital timepeice, but if you have a mac you can do it in performer. I a m not sure. Anyone out there who can educate me on what I need to do?

It will work

Sync your adats via (9 pin) and the OUT of the LAST adat into the the PCI-324 card

Now depending on your software, ((and after you set up the 2408)) hit sync on your PROGRAM, choose ASIO/MMC
30 fps, this should sync your SEQUENCER & ADATS, now your lightpipe will go into your sound card or digital recorder which will give you the ACCURATE transfer cause everything is in sync ---- if not consider getting the (digital timpiece) or (BRC) or both for that matter, you wont be mad.

I just switched from ADAT to HDR (saved me time & space)
sold my BRC & MVP & 3 ADATS.

Good Luck
