Does anyone know how to synchronize Acid Pro and FL Studio? I usually make the whole beat in FL, then pull the wave file into Acid. I wanna be able to record vocals/etc. in Acid while just hearing playback in FL so i can change things on the fly. This way, when i mix, i'll have total control over every sound and parameter in FL without having to literally pull individual tracks into Acid and i can listen to the vocals and change the music at the same time. Help?

FL Studio can function as a ReWire host for installed ReWire devices. The host functionality is implemented via the ReWired plugin. Each instance of the plugin lets you host one ReWire device (to use multiple devices, simply add multiple instances of the plugin to your project). I have flstudio6 XXl i'm not sure what version you have so check at the top where it says channels/ add one/ and look for Rewired.

I heard of using some program called midi yoke to sync programs. Imma check that out unless i can get rewire some kind of way.

rewire is built into the software, you cant buy it. It should set it self up automatically when you start the two programs. Start the one you want as master first and the then the other one.

Yoke probably wont help since it will only allow you route midi and having two sound programs running independantly will definitely cause problems.

I really dont see why you dont settle on one package that does everything you need. Going back and forth between DAW software is a ridiculous way of working, Acid should be able to do everything and more than fruitly loops

Flstudio is the best sequencing software out therejust for the fact that it has more effects generators and bundled plug ins than any other software that is actually high quality, wut sold me on it was it's really easy user interface for 350.00 you really can't go wrong ( take for granted pretty much all of the standard synth sounds are crap but it's nuttin effects can't take care of) ( unlike laffy taffy) haha yo tone did u buy your fl online or in a box at the store? cuz if u did it online u just gotta sign on to myflstudio.com and u can upgrade to the newest versions of fl when they come out

Hey altitude, if you can tell me one "package" that has all the features of acid and Fl and also has something similar to the beatmapper in acid(in as i can sequence the whole project on time with a grid system) i'll buy it!! Your comment tells me you must have not used fruity loops much. FL does alot of things acid can't do. Heck, Acid does crap FL can't do. These are two different types of programs so i think it would make plenty of sense if i could sync them together.

cubase
tracktion
logic
sonar
Live!
Digital Performer
Protools

take your pick. All of those will do what FL does and a lot more

I used 6 for a couple of weeks (they had it at the studio i was working at) and completely hated it. The whole boxed in structure of the sequencer is annoying and the workflow was awkward at best. No real external equipment support, plus the very poor recording setup coupled with almost no routing options makes severely limited.

Oh yea! I agree that FL does suck at recording!!! I tried that when i got my asio card. I was all excited about it but after i tried it, i was like, dang. That's horrible. But, it works for what i use it for. Thinkin about gettin reason.
