Help is needed .
I recently came across a black face adat and a jlcooper data sync and i would like to sync the adat to Nuendo and machine control the adat via a Tascam tmd-4000 digital console. I dont have lightpipe expansion card on the console, but it does have midi in midi out and thur as well as sony 9 pin protocol . I just cant get my head around mtc midi sync and what plugs into what and where .Any help on this topic would be fantastic.

mtc and mmc

I have a simliar set-up. first you will need to get a midi thru box, this allow you to send a midi signal in to time to two different unit's. plug your adat sync cable into the out of your adat into the data sync in connection. then plug in a midi cable into the out of the data sync into a midi thru box which will have two midi out's on the other end of it. plug one of the midi out's into your sound card and the other into your tascam midi in on the console. make sure you set all machines' and the Nuendo clock's to the same sync time frame. in nuendo you go into the transport sync set-up at the bottom of the menu and click on to set-up your timing reference. set both mmc and mtc control to on in this menu. then go into nuendo project menu and click on project set-up and a window will open with the timecode info, make your setting to match with your adat time code and any offset time you may have set on the adat. make sure that nuendo is set to slave mode in the transport control also set your tascam as a slave as well and you should be good to go.

Or go MIDI to the computer and sony 9pin between the Mixer and Sync box.

but is the nine pin from the jlcooper data sync sony protocol ?.
